DAY 1 — ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA & TRANSFER TO ARUSHA
Welcome to Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your AMARÉA representative and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha.
Located at the foot of Mount Meru, Arusha is widely known as the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. The city provides a comfortable starting point for journeys to some of the country’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.
Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, you may have an opportunity to explore some of Arusha or simply relax at your accommodation after your journey.
For travellers arriving early, optional experiences can be arranged, including an Arusha city tour, Lake Duluti nature walk, canoeing or a visit to Napuru Waterfalls.

DAY 2 — ARUSHA TO KARATU VIA LAKE MANYARA
Lake Manyara National Park & Mto Wa Mbu
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive towards Lake Manyara National Park.
Lake Manyara is a scenic park situated beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Despite its relatively compact size, the park offers a remarkable variety of landscapes and wildlife.
During your game drive, keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, warthogs and large troops of baboons. The park is also known for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are never guaranteed.
The lake itself attracts a variety of birdlife, including flamingos depending on water levels and seasonal conditions.
The dramatic Rift Valley escarpment provides a spectacular backdrop throughout the journey.

After your safari experience, continue to Mto Wa Mbu, a lively multicultural village located near Lake Manyara.

DAY 3 — FULL-DAY NGORONGORO CRATER SAFARI
Wildlife in the World’s Largest Intact Caldera
After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch.
The crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable natural landscapes and supports a high concentration of wildlife throughout the year.
As you explore the crater floor with your professional driver-guide, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, hyenas and a wide variety of bird species.
The crater also provides an opportunity to look for the endangered black rhinoceros, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
The combination of open grasslands, seasonal wetlands, forests and the surrounding crater walls creates an extraordinary setting for photography and wildlife observation.
Enjoy your picnic lunch in an appropriate designated area before continuing your game drive.
Later in the afternoon, ascend the crater rim and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Explore the local market, discover handmade crafts, see fresh produce and experience the atmosphere of this colourful community.
Continue to Arusha where you will have access to a day room and lunch at Villa Maua before your onward journey.
Later, your AMARÉA representative will transfer you to either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
If you are continuing to another destination, such as Zanzibar, your itinerary can be extended with additional arrangements.

June to October
The dry season generally provides excellent conditions for wildlife viewing. Vegetation is often less dense, animals may gather around water sources and the weather is generally comfortable for safari activities.
December to February
This period can offer excellent wildlife experiences, particularly in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu area during the wildebeest calving season.
March to May
